Cookie Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 1 July 2026
We keep cookies to a minimum. Browsing the public Pin the Date site, the free community calendars, and signing up for one, sets no tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
The basic, aggregate statistics we keep on our own server, such as how often a calendar feed is fetched or a link is clicked, are measured without cookies and without tracking you across other sites. This is described in our privacy policy.
We also use Google Analytics, but in a strictly cookieless mode. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It sends Google aggregate, modelled figures about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, the country a visit came from, and where visitors arrived from, so we can see overall traffic and never individuals. It does not identify you, does not follow you across other websites, and is never used for advertising. Like any analytics, the request reaches Google's servers, which briefly see your IP address. Because it sets no cookie, no consent banner is shown for it, but we describe it here so you know it runs.
One thing to note for transparency: the club crests and logos shown on our pages are loaded directly from our sports-data provider, so viewing a club page makes a request to that provider, which sees your IP address as any image host would. This sets no cookie, but we mention it because it is a third-party request we do not control.
The cookies we do set are all essential or functional. There is a strictly-necessary session cookie, and only for people who sign in to a Pin the Date account (clubs and organisations) — it keeps you logged in and does nothing else. And to honour the choices you make, we remember your language and your time-format and timezone preference. That is the lot. Essential and functional cookies like these do not require consent, which is part of why you won't see a cookie banner.
We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers. How we handle personal data, including the limited, aggregate data Google Analytics processes on our behalf, is set out in our privacy policy.
If we ever introduce something that needs a cookie or your consent, we'll update this page and ask you first.
